فَضلُ الاستِخارَةِ / Seeking a Good Outcome
[From Allah]
1ـ رسولُ اللهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ) : إذا هَمَمْتَ بأمْرٍ فاسْتَخِرْ ربَّكَ فيهِ سَبْعَ مرّاتٍ ، ثُمّ انظُرْ إلى الّذي يَسْبِقُ إلى قَلبِكَ فإنَّ الخِيَرَةَ فيهِ ، يَعني: افْعَلْ ذلكَ.
1– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘When you set out to do something then seek a good outcome for it from your Lord seven times, then look to see what comes to your heart first, for verily there is good in that, meaning, act accordingly.’

2ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : ما نَدِمَ مَنِ اسْتَخارَ.
2– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The one who seeks a good outcome
[from Allah] does not regret.’

3ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اسْتَخِرْ ولا تَتَخَيّرْ، فكَم مَن تَخَيّرَ أمْراً كانَ هَلاكُهُ فيهِ.
3– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Seek a good outcome
[from Allah] and do not choose
[your own preference] for verily how many have chosen something within which lay their destruction.’

4ـ الإمامُ الصّادقُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : ما اسْتَخارَ اللّهَ عزّوجلّ عَبدٌ مؤمنٌ إلّا خارَ لَهُ و إنْ وَقَعَ ما يَكْرَهُ.
4– Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, ‘No sooner does a believing servant seek goodness from Allah than the choice is made for him, even if what he detests occurs
[but it will be what is good].’

5ـ الإمامُ الصّادقُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) ـ لابنِ أبي يَعْفورٍ في الاسْتِخارَةِ ـ : تُعَظِّمُ اللّهَ وتُمَجِّدُهُ وتَحْمَدُهُ وتُصلّي على النَّبيِّ وآلهِ ، ثُمّ تقولُ : اللّهُمَّ إنّي أسألُكَ بأنّكَ عالِمُ الغَيبِ والشَّهادَةِ الرّحمنُ الرّحيمُ ، وأنتَ عَلاّمُ الغُيوبِ ، أسْتَخيرُ اللّهَ برَحْمتِهِ .
5– Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said to Ibn Abi Ya`afur about seeking goodness, ‘Magnify Allah, glorify Him and praise Him and send blessings on the Prophet (SAWA) and his family (AS), then say, “O Allah I ask you by the fact that you are the Knower of the unseen and the seen, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful, indeed you are the Knower of all the unseen things, I seek goodness from Allah by His Mercy”.’

6ـ الإمامُ الصّادقُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) ـ لِمَن قالَ لَهُ : اُريدُ الشَّيءَ وأستخيرُ اللّهَ فيهِ فلا يُوَفَّقُ فيه الرَّأيُ ـ : افْتَحِ المُصْحَفَ ، فانْظُرْ إلى أوّلِ ما تَرى فَخُـذْ بهِ، إنْ شاءَ اللّهُ.
6– A person asked Imam al-Sadiq (AS), ‘I seek goodness from Allah when I want to do something but I am unable to make up my mind’, so the ImÁm (AS) said to him, ‘Open the Qur’an and look at the first verse that you see and act by it, Allah willing.’

7ـ الإمامُ الصّادقُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : صَلِّ رَكْعَتَينِ واسْتَخِرِ اللّهَ. فواللّهِ ، ما اسْتَخارَ اللّهَ مسلمٌ إلّا خارَ لَهُ البَتّةَ .
7– Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, ‘Pray two units of prayer and seek goodness from Allah, and by Allah, no sooner does a Muslim seek goodness from Allah than He surely chooses
[the good] for him.’
